FALL 2017 14 | FRONTDOORSMEDIA .COM 2017-18 Tax Credit Directory - Qualified Charity FOUNDATION FOR BLIND CHILDREN Every day in Arizona, a mother is told her new baby is blind. Early intervention is critical to the future success of a blind child as 75% of early learning is visual. Foundation for Blind Children’s certified teachers of the visually impaired teach concepts that most children learn by imitation. Services for infants are provided in-home and teach parents to motivate their blind baby to learn and grow, using their remaining senses. The unemployment rate for students completing training at FBC is 5%, compared to a national unemployment rate of 70% for visually impaired adults. For blind adults to have that level of success, the work starts at birth. You can ensure that FBC will be there for every child and family who need us! seeitourway.org FOUNDATION FOR SENIOR LIVING FSL (Foundation for Senior Living) has been caring for Arizonans since 1974. Our mission is to provide home and community-based services and develop energy-efficient, affordable housing to promote health, independence and dignity for all. We do this by developing single-family homes and multi-family affordable housing communities and residential behavioral health group homes. We operate food pantries in Phoenix, Peoria, and Wickenburg. Additionally, we serve nearly 800 congregate and home-delivered meals to Arizonans each day. We provide home and community-based services to enhance independence for Arizonans of all ages, including adult day health, Medicare- certified home health and non-medical home care services. We educate clients and family caregivers in an effort to empower them to maintain and enhance independence for themselves, their loved ones and their clients. fsl.org FRESH START WOMEN’S FOUNDATION Since 1992, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation has been on a mission to provide education, resources, and support for women to positively transform their lives and strengthen the community.
