FALL 2017 24 | FRONTDOORSMEDIA .COM 2017-18 Tax Credit Directory - Foster Care ARIZONA FRIENDS OF FOSTER CHILDREN FOUNDATION More than 30 children will enter foster care in Arizona – today alone. Many times they come with little more than the clothes on their back or what they can carry in a trash bag. They may have never ridden a bicycle or sat down for a family meal. They may be struggling to keep up in school or dreaming of playing a sport. The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation promotes the self- esteem and enriches the lives of Arizona’s children in foster care by funding social, athletic and educational activities and items that provide them with quality experiences while they live through very difficult circumstances. Help us give children in foster care back their childhood by making a charitable donation that qualifies for the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit. fosterfriendaz.org CHILD CRISIS ARIZONA Support, protect and strengthen Arizona’s most vulnerable children and families by making a tax credit donation to Child Crisis Arizona! Taxpayers can support our vision of “Safe Kids…Strong Families” by making a donation to Child Crisis Arizona as a Qualifying Foster Care Organization (QFCO) until April 17, 2018 and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. The Charitable Foster Care Tax Credit allows for up to $500 for single filers and $1,000 for married/ joint filers. Last year’s tax credit donations allowed us to extend Early Head Start services to 112 additional children, protect 800 children through our emergency placement services, expand our adoption program by 28% and unite 120 children with their Forever Families. childcrisisaz.org AASK - AID TO ADOPTION OF SPECIAL KIDS AASK (Aid to Adoption of Special Kids) provides relationships for children in foster care, by connecting children with foster families, adoptive families, siblings, kin, and adult mentors. Founded in 1988 by Katherine Herberger, AASK was created to find adoptive homes for medically fragile babies. AASK today serves any child in foster care, and continues to recruit families who care for children with developmental delays, disabilities, and behavioral health challenges. In addition, AASK reunites brothers and sisters separated by foster care, and matches stable, trusted mentors with foster youth in group homes and shelters. AASK is Arizona’s largest non-profit agency with the sole focus of finding relationships for children in foster care. Thank you for helping us to ensure that every child has someone who cares. aask-az.org
