The unemployment rate for adults trained at Foundation for Blind Children is 7 percent. The national unemployment rate for visually impaired adults is 70 percent. To have that level of success, the work starts at birth. Services for infants are provided at home with the goal of educating parents to facilitate optimal learning and development of their child. Certified teachers of the visually impaired teach concepts that most children learn by imitation.
