The 2020 Point-in-Time Count found that 7,419 people were experiencing homelessness on Jan. 27, 2020. Of those, 494 were homeless veterans, an increase from 2019. The rise in homelessness is attributed to a lack of affordable housing as well as myriad challenges veterans experience, such as psychological and emotional distress, substance-use disorders, trauma, lack of social supports and more. U.S. VETS provides resources that empower veterans to achieve their economic potential by offering wraparound support and preventative services, including housing, meals, case management, life skills classes, substance use counseling, employment training and more. In 2020 U.S.VETS – Phoenix served more than 1,200 veterans. usvets.org Tax Code 20756 HOUSING SUPPORT HOUSING SUPPORT Qualified Charities | $400 per Individual / $800 per Married Couple 32 FRONTDOORS MEDIA | TAX CREDIT GIVING GUIDE
