BENEVILLA Started by and for our community in 1981, Benevilla enriches the lives of West Valley residents by serving older adults, adults with disabilities, children and the families who care for them. Benevilla promotes health and independence by providing supportive services to community neighbors while recognizing that caring for the needs of older adults reaches beyond the individual to the entire family. The Nourishing Seniors program provides interactive workshops that provide nutritious fruits and vegetables and teach healthy eating and exercise. Meanwhile, more than 20,000 veterans in Maricopa County are seniors over the age of 65 living in poverty. One in four veterans struggles with diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
