Known for its upbeat music and colorful dresses that ripple like waves when dancers twirl and spin, folkloric dance has been practiced for centuries. Since its beginnings in 2008, Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ has transformed from a grassroots community-driven effort to a full-blown arts studio serving over 100 students from ages 5 to adult, where they are given the opportunity to perform dances from different regions of Mexico, while learning about the history and traditions with each lesson.
