HEIDI’S VILLAGE We unite partners by providing shared, low-cost resources, including boarding, veterinary services, grooming, training and behavioral support, helping rescues say YES to saving more lives. Heidi’s Village is Arizona’s collaborative animal welfare campus, a state - of - the - art nonprofit hub in Phoenix that unites rescues, partners and the community to save vulnerable animals. At the center of our work is the 24/7 Smitten Kitten Nursery, where fragile newborn kittens receive around-the-clock care during the most delicate days of their lives. Together, we prevent surrenders, reduce shelter overcrowding and help animals heal and find loving forever homes statewide. 600 North 40 th Street | Phoenix, AZ 85008 call: 602-241-4640 visit: heidisvillage.org HOSPICE OF THE VALLEY Hospice of the Valley’s pet therapy teams bring joy to everyone they meet. As soon as pet therapy teams walk into a room, our patients and families feel better. There is something very comforting about the unconditional love pets freely give — not to mention all the precious cuddles, handshakes and tail wags. Our cheerful teams visit our patients in homes, group homes, independent and assisted living communities, inpatient care homes and nursing facilities. Suitable pets include dogs, cats, bunnies and miniature horses with a current pet therapy certification. 1510 East Flower Street | Phoenix, AZ 85014 call: 602-636-6336 visit: hov.org/volunteer/pet-therapy 2026 RESOURCE DIRECTORY: ANIMAL ADOPTION, CARE, RESCUE & SUPPORT | 14 | FURRY FRIENDS 2026
FURRY FRIENDS 2026 | 15 | NEW LIFE CENTER At New Life Center, we’re reimagining what our communities, and our lives, could look like without the fear and consequences of violence. We envision a society where every person feels safe, valued and respected, allowing them to live the fullest life possible. That’s why our mission is to ensure safe, stable communities by preventing and responding to domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. Fewer than 20 percent of domestic violence shelters welcome pets, and even fewer allow them to stay in the same living space as families. New Life Center is proud to be one of them. Here, pets live side-by-side with families in private casitas, not kennels, and can play freely in our on-site pet park. We also provide essentials like food, beds, leashes and veterinary care. Because 50 percent of survivors delay leaving a dangerous situation out of fear of what could happen to a pet left behind, welcoming animals removes a critical barrier to safety. PACC911 brings together more than 140 animal welfare organizations across Arizona to save the animals most in need. Through our Critical Care Program, over 14,000 animals have received lifesaving medical treatment, giving them a second chance at life. Since 2004, our outdoor adopt-a-thons have helped place more than 11,660 homeless pets into loving homes. Support from our community makes this work possible. The annual Glimmer of Hope event and Rescued Treasures thrift store help raise essential funds to sustain these efforts. 10645 North Tatum Boulevard, Suite 200-516 | Phoenix, AZ 85028 call: 602-402-1946 visit: pacc911.org Furry Friends
